Dr. Stephen Yang
Diplomate, American Board of Orthodontics
Dr. Stephen Yang is a Board Certified Orthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is currently the only Board Certified Orthodontist in Redwood City and one of only three Board Certified Orthodontists within 10 miles of Redwood City. Dr. Yang has been practicing orthodontics in the area since 2005 and established Yang Orthodontics in 2010. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, San Mateo County Dental Society, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dr. Yang received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. He then attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he completed his thesis and obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, graduating with Honors. As his goal was to practice orthodontics, Dr. Yang moved back to Los Angeles and completed his orthodontic training at the University of Southern California. While at USC, he also obtained a Master’s of Science in Craniofacial Biology for his work on one-phase versus two-phase treatment in patients with large overbites.
Dr. Yang and his wife, MyLinh, live in the South Bay with their three daughters. In his free time, Dr. Yang likes playing golf, tennis, and pickleball. He also enjoys a variety of artistic activities, including photography, painting, singing and playing guitar. Dr. Yang is an intermediate balloon sculptor and enjoys making balloon animals for patients and families! He also volunteers for the American Diabetes Association where he helps plan local fundraising events.
